An annual tradition continued.

5TH ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DONATION CLASS CELEBRATION

Hi everyone! I’ve been off my writing beat recently, tending to some personal and family matters over the past month or so. But I am back at it with some more space for my mind and heart and looking forward to sharing what I’ve learned.

In the meantime, the timing is great, as this Thursday, November 24th is the 5th Annual Mettā Community Thanksgiving Donation class to benefit Sea Change Yoga.

The class will be from 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM ET. It is both live on-line and with limited in-person spots at Scarborough Yoga Studio in Scarborough, Maine.

EVEN BETTER: I AM AGAIN JOINED BY MY DEAR FRIEND AND LONG TIME COLLABORATOR MOLLY DONLAN!

We’ll be guiding you through a 75-minute slow paced class with gentle movements, restorative shapes, breathwork, and meditation. Plenty of space and opportunity for you to explore variations and options to find what feels appropriate for you.

We will be so honored if you joined us Thursday morning. Join us online. Join us with the limited in-person spots in the studio.  Or join us in spirit! 100% of every penny will go straight to supporting the programs of Sea Change Yoga.

Donations of all sizes are warmly and gratefully accepted. Please know they are not required. We'd be so grateful if you still joined us in celebration of community and gratitude for all of the amazing gifts that each individual brings to the world.

I know I've written about Sea Change Yoga before.  But I'm not one to be shy about talking about this group that I've been a part of, basically as long as I have been teaching! So, here is a reminder 🥰

At Sea Change Yoga – we combine the traditional healing centered practices of yoga and meditation with modern approaches to trauma informed principles of care. We partner with organizations that support individuals who are incarcerated, in treatment for substance use disorder, recovering from violence, transitioning from being unhoused, and more! We facilitate classes and experiences for children, teenagers, adults, and seniors.

In my time with Sea Change I have taught at the Maine Correctional Center, Androscoggin County Jail, Portland Recovery Community Center, Milestone Recovery Center, Long Creek Youth Development Center, My Place Teen Center, and more.

I am not shy about my love for this organization. My time with SCY has shaped who I am as a teacher, facilitator, and student of yoga, as an advocate for accessibility, equality and restorative justice, and as a human striving to practice compassion and empathy in all areas of my life.

These are just some of the reasons why it brings me so much joy to share in this day, in this practice with you.

I really hope to see you on Thursday!
